B85 Audio Hrom is a handmade floor bass overdrive pedal built around the proven CD4049UBE CMOS chip, also used in well-known bass overdrives such as the Darkglass B3K and Darkglass Vintage.

This pedal is based on my original Bass Overdrive circuit, enhanced with a tone control and several refinements. The result is an overdrive designed to maintain excellent note definition, dynamics, and full-frequency response even at high gain settings. Every note remains clear and articulate, helping your bass cut through the mix without losing its low-end foundation.

Controls

• LEVEL – adjusts the output volume
• DRIVE – adjusts the amount of overdrive
• BLEND – mixes the clean and overdriven signals
• TONE – shapes the overall tonal character
• ATTACK (3-position switch) – adjusts the saturation of high frequencies
• GRUNT (3-position switch) – adjusts the saturation of low frequencies

Thanks to its versatile control set, the Hrom can deliver anything from subtle warmth and grit to aggressive, high-gain overdrive tones. It is suitable for a wide range of musical styles, including rock, metal, punk, and modern bass playing.

Each pedal is handcrafted in the Czech Republic, including the printed circuit board itself. Every unit is individually assembled and tested to ensure reliable performance and high-quality workmanship.
